Cox Media Group Adult R&B “Hot 106.5” WHJX Ponte Vedra Beach/Jacksonville FL has announced the addition of Shawn Knight as afternoon host.
Knight most recently spent three years hosting mornings at Cumulus Media AC “Majic 107.7” KMAJ-FM Topeka KS until exiting last June. He also has held roles as APD/afternoon host at Townsquare Media Adult R&B “107.3 Kiss-FM” KISX Tyler TX and on-air at WKZJ Columbus GA, WPWX, WGCI, and WSRB Chicago, and WTLC and WTLC-FM Indianapolis.
Cox Director of Urban Content Elroy Smith said, “I am thrilled to have Shawn Knight on our team. He is smart, creative, and has the experience to raise the bar at HOT 106.5. When Knight debuts on Monday, January 27, current afternoon host Shelby Rushin will move to nights from 7pm to 12am. Rushin, based in Miami, also hosts 10am to 4pm on Cox’s “Hot 105” WHQT.
