Shari Elliker Joins KIRO As Afternoon Co-Host

Longtime Baltimore/Washington DC area personality Shari Elliker is joining Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM Tacoma/Seattle as the new afternoon co-host alongside John Curley.

Elliker debuted this afternoon to fill the slot held by the retiring Tom Tangney. She has worked part-time at KIRO-FM since January filling in for Tangney on Friday afternoons. Elliker previously served as a traffic reporter at multiple Washington DC radio and TV stations, was part of the syndicated Don & Mike Show, hosted mornings on Alternative 99.1 WHFS Annapolis MD, hosted late mornings and later afternoons on News/Talk 1090 WBAL Baltimore, and hosted a show on XM.

Bonneville’s 97.3 KIRO Seattle adds a new weekday afternoon program, “The John Curley and Shari Show,” hosted by John Curley and Shari Elliker, weekdays from 3-7pm. Curley has been with KIRO Radio for 10 years, most notably as the host of “The Tom and Curley Show,” which debuted in 2013. Prior to that he was an Emmy Award winning TV host.

Shari Elliker has co-hosted “The Tom and Curley Show Fridays” since January 2021. Prior to joining KIRO, Shari hosted shows on WBAL Baltimore, XM Radio, WHFS and WUSA in Washington, DC. She received “Outstanding Talk Show” awards from the Associated Press in 2007 and 2008, also two “Achievement in Radio” awards.

“We’re thrilled for this next chapter on KIRO Radio,” said Bonneville Seattle SVP/Market Manager Cathy Cangiano. “We think John and Shari will connect with our audience in a compelling and entertaining way and help Bonneville Seattle continue as the Pacific Northwest’s media choice.”

“We’re really excited about this new show,” added KIRO PD Bryan Buckalew. “John and Shari have great chemistry. They’re fun to listen to and really complement KIRO Radio’s continued commitment to delivering the most important local news every weekday afternoon.”
