Seven Mountains Launches Pop 98/100.7 In Northwest PA

Seven Mountains Media has flipped News/Talk 1450 WFRA/98.1 W251CL Franklin and 1490 WMGW/100.7 W264DK Meadville PA to CHR “Pop 98.1/100.7“.

The two stations were part of the “Allegheny News Talk Sports Network” along with 1230 WTIV/105.3 W287DC Titusville. The new format effectively replaces Hot AC “Majic” 99.3 WHMJ Franklin and 104.5 WXMJ Cambridge Springs/Meadville in the company’s cluster. WHMJ, WXMJ, and WTIV/W287DC along with News/Talk 1200 WKST/97.9 W250CW New Castle flipped to Classic Hits “WUZZ Radio” earlier this week. The company also flipped the former Classic Hits 1280 WUZZ/97.5 W248DJ New Castle to a simulcast Classic Country “Wille 95.1” WYLE Grove City with WUZZ and WKST swapping call letters.

The new “Pop” joins similarly branded sister stations in Altoona/Johnstown, Bloomsburg, Du Bois, and State College PA, Olean NY, and Frankfort KY. Like the others, WFRA/WMGW will carry Compass Media Networks’ Anna & Raven in mornings and Pop Crush Nights. WNKI Elmira NY afternoon host Matt Dishler adds middays in Northwest PA, while WMXO Olean PD/afternoon host Sammy Stone will host afternoons.
