Seahaven FM in East Sussex has announced that it may close down in the new year due to lack of funding.
The station shared the news over the weekend that it will cease broadcasting at noon on Friday 10 January 2025, exactly 14 years after it began programmes on FM in the Lower Ouse Valley.
Following the announcement, Seahaven FM received messages of support including offers of regular financial support.
Station Manager Nick Mallinson said: “We are humbled by the wonderful reaction from our listeners and advertisers. We know we provide a service that entertains, informs and provides company for people, and our daily programmes, quizzes and features are part of their routine. It is a huge privilege to have become part of people’s lives.
“Since our initial announcement, we have been approached by several people who are keen to support the station with expertise and funding.
“We are also exploring a subscription scheme to help raise funds to keep the station going.”
More details can be found on the radio station’s website and updates will be posted on social media.
