Following the success of the first series of Scala Radio’s Classical Comedy Club, it’s returning for a second.
Across five weeks, Gyles Brandreth, Josie Long, Suzi Ruffell and Nina Wadia, with the final comedian to be confirmed, will each be hosting a show on Sunday evenings celebrating the lighter side of classical music.
The comedians will play classical compositions from their favourite artists, unforgettable concerts, and stand-out musical memories.
During their two hour-long shows, they will explore the tracks that have inspired their comedy sets, been the background to childhood memories or simply pieces which were composed to make people laugh.
The series begins with comedian, writer and actress Suzi Ruffell who said: “It was great to spend some time at Scala Radio sharing my favourite classical pieces, film scores and a fair few numbers from my favourite genre: musical theatre. I hope the listeners enjoy my choices and listening to why these pieces mean so much to me.”
Scala Radio’s Classical Comedy Club launches this Sunday, 28th May for five weeks from 6pm.
