Saga Communications To Launch Online News Platforms In All Markets

Saga Communications intends to launch online news platforms across all of its local markets.

To oversee the roll-out, Saga has promoted Katie Gambill to Director of Online News Brands. Gambill has served as President/General Manager of the company’s Clarksville TN cluster since 2007 after previously serving as Director of Sales for Clear Channel.

Gambill launched ClarksvilleNow.com in 2010, which claims to have over 70% of the local digital news market share in the market. Saga has since launched similar platforms in Asheville NC, Bucyrus OH, and Greenfield MA. It will now launch them in its other 23 markets ranging in size from Columbus OH and Milwaukee to Mitchell and Yankton SD.

Katie Gambill’s vision and dedication to Saga’s online news site platform have had a tremendously positive impact. Under her leadership, the Saga Communications cluster in Clarksville, Tennessee experienced exponential growth in its online audience and its engagement with the Clarksville community, and now Saga is deploying this product across its entire footprint. Katie’s innovative strategies and relentless pursuit of excellence have elevated the company’s online presence.

Gambill said, “I am excited for the opportunity to spearhead this local online news and community connection site launch in other Saga markets. I honestly believe these local online news sites will help us to better serve and connect with our communities, especially when partnered with the power of radio. I am passionate about this endeavor and dedicated to the success of these sites, in fact, the Brand message for these sites is, “your community connection.”

President and CEO, Chris Forgy said, “We are delighted to have Katie join the corporate team. She has been an elite leader with Saga for 17 years. Her knowledge, passion, and commitment to excellence, in this space, is unprecedented.”
