Ryan ‘Crash’ Swiger Joins WZPL As MD/Afternoon Host

Cumulus Media CHR 99.5 WZPL Indianapolis has announced the hiring of Ryan ‘Crash’ Swiger as Music Director and afternoon host starting September 1.

Swiger joins WZPL from Dowdy & Dowdy CHR “95.3 Gorilla” WZNF Gulfport MS where he has served as Program Director since 2017. He previously spent three years in the market in multiple dayparts at CHR “Radio Now 100.9” WNOW-FM and has also worked in Charlotte NC, and Terre Haute and Vincennes IN.

He fills the slot last held by Zach ‘Tommy’ Burton until his exit in May.

Cumulus Media (NASDAQ: CMLS) announces that it has appointed Ryan Swiger (known on-air as “Crash”) as the new Music Director and Afternoon Drive host for Indianapolis Top 40 radio station 99.5 WZPL. Ryan will debut in Afternoons on WZPL on Thursday, September 1st, and will be heard Monday through Friday from 3:00pm-7:00pm.

An Indiana native, Swiger joins Cumulus Indianapolis after spending more than five years with Coast Radio Group as Program Director and Afternoon Host of Top 40 radio station WZNF-FM in Gulfport, MS. Swiger previously worked in Indianapolis as on-air talent at Radio One Top 40 radio station WNOW-FM, hosting nights and then afternoons. Other stops in Swiger’s radio career include Charlotte, NC, Terre Haute, IN, and Vincennes, IN.
