iHeartMedia Rock “Rock 95.5” WCHI-FM Chicago has launched “The Morning Mosh Pit” as evening host Maria Palmer joins Matt ‘Marris’ Harris and Michael Mason.
Palmer has been with WCHI-FM since shortly after its launch in the Fall of 2020. She previously has served as Music Director and night host at Alternative “106.5 The End” WEND Charlotte and was a weekend/fill-in host at Alternative “DC 101” WWDC and Country 98.7 WMZQ Washington DC.
Marris spent seven years at Cumulus Peoria prior to joining iHeartMedia Chicago in 2017 as Promotions Director for Hip Hop 107.5 WGCI and Gospel 1390 WGRB. He moved over to the morning show producer role at WCHI-FM in 2023.
Mason joined the station last August. He previously has served as a producer for Premiere Networks’ Delilah and Clay Travis & Buck Sexton, hosted mornings at Townsquare Media Country 99.1 KUAD Fort Collins CO, nights at “98.9 The Bull” KNUC Seattle, and stations in Portland and Richmond.
The station is promoting features such as “Top 5 Things to Know,” “Rock Talk,” “Fun To Your Head” and Palmer’s on-air/social-media “Thirstday”. iHeartMedia Chicago Regional SVP/Programming James Howard commented, “We have assembled an insanely talented group to entertain Chicago’s incredible rock lifestyle fanbase. Palmer’s move to mornings fills the opening following Angi Taylor’s exit in iHeart’s last round of staff cuts across the country in November.
