Dick Broadcasting has flipped “Rock 105” 105.5 WXQR-FM Jacksonville/New Bern NC to Regional Mexican “La Pantera 105.5“.
The new format debuted with Univision’s syndicated El Bueno, la Mala y el Feo in mornings.
WXQR-FM serves the southern half of the broad Greenville/New Bern/Kinston/Jacksonville market and also rimshots Wilmington NC. The flip places the station in competition with Conner Media’s “104.7 La Invasora” WZUP La Grange, which serves the Kinston portion of the market.
WXQR-FM had featured Rock programming since the 1970s. The flip leaves Curtis Media Classic Rock 106.5 WSFL as the only Rock based signal in the market. “Rock 105” had been promoting that the brand would remain broadcasting online, but at this point it is airing the new format on its streams.
