Rob Connett Exits Mornings At WPTF

Curtis Media News/Talk 680 WPTF Raleigh/98.5 W253CY Cary NC has cut ties with morning host Rob Connett.

Connett shared on social media, “Over the holidays, I was informed that I am no longer employed at Curtis Media Group. I was shocked, saddened, and blindsided. Luckily, I was spending time with my family and friends when I got the phone call, and was able to lean on them for support.

I am proud of the hard work that went into the WPTF Morning Show, and I’m thankful for all of the local business owners, local personalities, national experts, comedians and musicians, and other guests that truly helped make the show a success. I’m going to miss my colleagues and the friendships that were created during my time in the building. But… I’m ready for the next chapter of my life. Plans are already in the works. 2024 will definitely be a year of change. Stay tuned.”

Connett joined Curtis Media in September 2022 as afternoon news and sports anchor for WPTF and the North Carolina News Network before rising to the morning show at the start of 2023. He also added duties this year as the public address announcer for University of North Carolina football. Prior to his arrival at WPTF, Connett worked in his native Indiana with stints at WOWO Fort Wayne, WORX Madison, and WIBC Indianapolis.
