Reyes Media Group will acquire CHR “105.9 Kiss-FM” KKSW Lawrence/Topeka KS from Great Plains Media for $2.25 million.
Reyes Media will add KKSW to its trio of Spanish language stations in Kansas City. The company owns Regional Mexican “La Grande 1340” KDTD Kansas City and Spanish CHR “Dos Mundos Radio” 1480 KCZZ Mission KS, while leasing 1250 KYYS Kansas City from Audacy as Regional Mexican “La X 1250“. Reyes also owns the Dos Mundos newspaper in Kansas City.
The 100kW/236m signal of KKSW covers a wide swatch of eastern Kansas including the Topeka market and Kansas City’s western suburbs. The station was most famous as Rock turned Alternative “Lazer 106” KLZR in the 1980s and 90s.
The Jerome Zimmer led Great Plains Media retains News/Talk 1320 KLWN/101.7 K269GP Lawrence and Country “92.9 The Bull” KMXN Osage City KS along with properties in Bloomington IL and Cookeville TN.
