Reunion planned for Centre Radio’s 40th anniversary

Some of the launch team from Centre Radio in Leicestershire are getting together to mark 40 years since the station launched.

Centre Radio was the county’s first commercial radio station and was based at Granville House, a converted 19th century luxury home.

Breakfast presenter Timmy Mallet launched the station, with broadcasters including David Robey, Tony Blewitt, Steve King, Mark Hurrell, Su Inglish, Triona Holden, Jay Cooper, Mark Williams and John Evington on the team.

Centre Radio’s 40th Anniversary event is taking place in the village of Great Glen on Sunday 5th September. If you were on the original 238 team you’re welcome to attend.

Please visit the Centre Radio 40 Facebook page for details of how to receive an invite.
