The New York Post’s Andrew Marchand reports that Craig Carton will exit Audacy Sports 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM New York later this month to move to full-time television on FS1.
Carton made his return to WFAN in October 2020 to co-host afternoons with Evan Roberts. He previously co-hosted “Boomer & Carton” with Boomer Esiason in mornings from 2007 until his 2017 arrest and subsequent conviction for running a ponzi scheme. Before joining WFAN, Carton co-hosted afternoons at “New Jersey 101.5” WKXW Trenton and also worked at WGR Buffalo, WWWE Cleveland, KKFN and KBPI Denver, WIP Philadelphia, and WNEW-FM New York. While awaiting sentencing he briefly hosted on FNTSY Sports Network.
Carton began hosting a morning show for FS1 from 7-9:30am eastern last September and had reportedly been working under an expired contract at Audacy via a handshake areement.
The Post mentions former New York Giants running back and current WFAN midday co-host Tiki Barber and former Entourage star Jerry Ferrera as potential candidates to succeed Carton in afternoons. It also rules out yet another return from Mike Francesa.
