The search has started for the UK radio and audio industry’s 30 brightest hopes as the ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30 opens for entries.
The annual list of 30 “ones to watch” in the business will be unveiled in November, and the scheme is open to entries from now until the end of August.
Each year, the 30 Under 30 lists people who The Radio Academy thinks show exceptional passion, skill, tenacity and who are on a trajectory likely to lead our industry in the future.
Chairing the 30 Under 30 Judging Committee for the 10th year, Bauer Media’s Steve Parkinson said: “In my time as chair of the 30 Under 30 I’ve had the honour of presiding over 270 young people joining its alumni. Many have gone on to build successful careers across the audio and media industry.
“I’m therefore delighted to chair for a tenth year and to bring a team of judges together to debate and decide on the next 30. So many previous winners have told me how they have used the accolade as a conversation starter with a prospective employer, and a proud headline in their CV.
“The entry is worth starting now to avoid disappointment!”
Managing Director of ReelWorld Europe Anthony Gay, added: “This is the 8th year that ReelWorld have supported the 30 Under 30 and it is a huge privilege to be part of this fantastic initiative. Talent has been heralded as the thing that will drive radio’s future success but that doesn’t just come down to the hosts and presenters – producers, journalists, editors, engineers, programmers, technologists, sales teams, audio dreamers and many more roles that haven’t been invented yet, are all taking the power of sound in new and exciting directions.
“The ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30 is about recognising and championing that talent and celebrating their creativity, innovation and connection with audiences. The initiative is a highlight of my year and I can’t wait to be part of the 2022 judging process.”
Entries for the ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30 are open from now until 31 st August 2022, and people can put themselves forward or be nominated by another Radio Academy Member.
Entries are via the Radio Academy website, where you can also find answers to commonly asked questions, and lists of all previous 30 Under 30 alumni.
