After two years online Radio West Norfolk has launched on DAB in King’s Lynn.
Simon Rowe, Radio West Norfolk director and the presenter of breakfast, said: “I have always believed radio should be a voice for the community. When I first set up the station for Smart Speakers and mobile phones, I wanted to make sure it reflected what this area is interested in, was concerned about, and enjoys doing.
“We will continue doing that and making sure everyone knows what is happening on their door-step thanks to our great mix of presenters who enjoy chatting to our listeners and playing songs to sing-along to every day.”
Simon worked on KL.FM for 23 years but when the station was sold, he decided to set up his own station to build on the work that was done for many years by him and his colleagues at his former employer.
Radio West Norfolk launched on November 2, 2020 and has collected over £50,000 worth of toys in a Christmas appeal, switched on Christmas Lights and hosted many local events including Race for Life.
Simon added: “We will still be broadcasting local news, travel, weather, and the great entertainment from our presenters.
“We live here too and want to reflect what our friends, neighbours and workmates are talking about, and our team of presenters that people will know from listening to the radio in West Norfolk over the last 25 years will be able to chat to even more of you as well as our existing listeners on their mobiles, Smart Speakers, Freeview Channel 277 and SKY.”
