The Asian Media Awards 2022 have been announced and include four awards for radio stations and presenters this year.
Best Radio Show was won by the BBC Asian Network for The Everyday Hustle, a programme about technology, money management, and entrepreneurship hosted by Sonya Barlow.
Radio Presenter of the Year was awarded to Neev Spencer – the former KISS presenter who joined Magic earlier this year to host two weekly shows.
Nihal Arthanayake from BBC Radio 5 Live won Media Personality of the Year, and Radio Station of the Year went to Lyca Radio.
Raj Baddhan, CEO of Lyca Media said: “We are thrilled to be declared Radio Station of the Year at the Asian Media Awards 2022. Not only are we hugely grateful to our listeners and commercial partners but also this award is a testament to my team’s hard work.
“What a great way to end a historic week, with the arrival of the UK’s first British Asian Prime Minister, Diwali celebrations and big numbers for Lyca Gold – the UK’s first and only retro Asian music station. Thanks to everyone for their unrivalled support and love.”
The rest of the awards covered newspapers, podcasts, television and websites.
