Radio Academy Foot In The Door event planned for Glasgow

The Radio Academy is holding a Foot In The Door training and connections day at the University of Glasgow on Wednesday 28th February 2024.

Foot In the Door is a one-day event for people at entry and early career level in audio, to build skills development and open access to people and expertise, through training workshops and a facilitated speed-networking session.

The event in Glasgow follows on from the Leeds event last November, where 130 delegates and 30 industry guests came together at Leeds University Student Union.

A three-hour programme of training workshops and talks with national, regional and local audio industry leaders and practitioners will start shortly after midday, covering sessions on programme production, podcasting, social media, brand development, music radio, news and speech audio, imaging, and technology.

The event closes with an informal social event with the Scotland Branch, where Radio Academy Members were invited to join in and make connections over a drink.

Aradhna Tayal Leach, The Radio Academy Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to bring the next of our very successful Foot in the Door events to Glasgow next month, and anticipate it will be just as popular as last year’s event in Leeds.

“It’s a unique event where you can find out about all the different jobs that go into creating great radio and audio, and meet other people who are as passionate about audio as you are – at all different stages of their profession. I would encourage all of our members and non-members alike, who are at early or mid-point in their careers to come along.”
