Power 99 Philadelphia Staff Joins SAG-AFTRA

The on-air staff of iHeartMedia Hip Hop “Power 99” WUSL Philadelphia will begin collective bargaining talks with the company on Wednesday, March 27 as the National Labor Relations Board has authorized the staff to be represented by SAG-AFTRA.

The authorization came after the NLRB counted two previously challenged ballots. Ten employees at the station began the unionization process in June 2023 attempting to join the employees at sister CHR “Q102” WIOQ and the Total Traffic & Weather Network as being represented by SAG-AFTRA in the iHeartMedia Philadelphia cluster.

SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director & Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland said, “We’re thrilled such a dynamic team of radio professionals will be joining the SAG-AFTRA Philadelphia family. Everyone can benefit from unionization and we look forward to working with Power 99 as they bargain for the wages and working conditions they deserve.”

SAG-AFTRA also represents employees at Public News/Talk 90.9 WHYY-FM, Beasley Media’s Country 92.5 WXTU and 93.3 WMMR, and Audacy’s Sports 94.1 WIP, News 1060 KYW/103.9 WPHI, Conservative Talk 1210 WPHT, and Audacy Traffic in Philadelphia.
