After two and a half years, Paul Salt is leaving the breakfast show on BBC Radio Merseyside.
Paul announced the news during his show on Wednesday morning, thanking listeners for listening and helping him grow the audience in the mornings.
He adds co-hosts Leanne Harper and Jenny-Lee Summers will also be leaving the show, and that they are all a but gutted but they have to respect the decision.
“It’s been brilliant waking up with you, I’ve loved doing this programme, I would love to carry on doing it for longer but that’s not my decision,” Paul said.
Paul, who has been with the station since 2012, is staying on the air, hosting a local sports show each evening from 6pm till 8pm from September. Leanne and Jenny will also continue elsewhere on the station.
Before joining the BBC, Paul worked on Breakfast at Century 105 and Radio City 96.7.
The changes are part of the ‘Digital First’ strategy for Local BBC Radio, which has so far seen the departure of many established and well known presenters across the network in favour of sharing programmes and enhancing online news articles.
No news on who will be replacing Paul, Leanne and Jenny at Breakfast as of yet.
