Pat Sissons announces the end of his BBC Radio Solent weekday show

Pat Sissons has announced he is stepping down from his weekday morning show at BBC Radio Solent.

He shared the news with his listeners last week in an emotional segment during his programme.

Pat talked about the changes coming to local radio stations, and what they mean for local listeners across the South, explaining how more programmes will be shared with other stations.

The final morning show, of which he has hosted for three and a half years, will be on July 7th.

Lou Hannan, currently host of the station’s Drive show, is taking over the slot from July 10th.

“I couldn’t be happier that someone from inside the BBC Radio Solent tent is taking over the show,” Pat added.

Pat added he will be taking over the Sunday evening 6pm till 10p show from July 2nd.

Before joining the BBC, Pat worked at many other radio stations in the area including Spire FM, SouthCity, Kestrel FM and Original 106.
