Chris Martin has been promoted to the role of Executive Music Producer at Absolute Radio meaning an end to his overnight show.
Chris, who previously led programming on Absolute Classic Rock will now add Absolute 80s to his responsibilities.
As a result, Dan Noble will move to take on the 1-6am weekday slot, with Sophie K taking on the late-night weekend ‘Through the Decades’ show on Fridays and Saturdays from 10pm.
Listeners will still be able to catch Chris Martin hosting shows across Absolute 80s and Absolute Classic Rock, however he has stepped away from overnights on the main station in order to focus on the new role.
Paul Sylvester, Content Director for Absolute Radio said “Chris, Dan and Sophie have enjoyed an amazing trajectory over the course of their time with Absolute Radio. Chris Martin is brilliantly hard-working, passionate and will be an excellent full time addition to our Music Team.
“We’re really excited for him to oversee the running of our most successful digital station Absolute 80s, with its 1.7 million listeners, while continuing the fantastic job he has done over the last few years on Absolute Classic Rock with its now record 900k listeners.”
“I’m delighted for Dan Noble too who in the two years he’s been with us has fast become one of the brilliant squad players that every station needs.
“His move from weekends also gives us the opportunity to welcome Sophie K as a full-time member of the family with her own regular shows. Sophie’s natural tone and passion for the music shines through everything she does, and this is a hugely deserved next step.”
