With Premiere Networks launching Clay Travis and Buck Sexton on Monday, June 21 to replace The Rush Limbaugh Show, a number of stations have determined whether they will carry the replacement show or one of the other syndicated options.
All of iHeartMedia’s Conservative Talk outlets that had been carrying Limbaugh will take the new Travis and Sexton show being provided by their Premiere subsidiary. That includes stations such as 710 WOR New York, 1150 KEIB Los Angeles, 1200 WXKS Boston, 1530/93.1 KFBK Sacramento, and 1100 WTAM Cleveland among others.
Townsquare Media gave its individual markets the opportunity to choose which show to air. Travis and Sexton will air on 1440 WROK Rockford IL, 1470 KYYW Abilene TX, 790 KFYO Lubbock TX, 1290 KWFS Wichita Falls TX
Westwood One’s Dan Bongino Show will be added at 96.5 KPEL-FM Lafayette LA, 1310 KLIX Twin Falls ID, 710 KEEL Shreveport LA, 1290 WNBF Binghamton NY, and 970 KFLD Pasco WA.
A few stations went in other directions. 1360 WKMI Kalamazoo and 95.3 WBCK Battle Creek MI went with with Fox News Radio’s “Fox Across America” hosted by Jimmy Failla. 1340 KROC Rochester MN added Salem’s Dennis Prager, while 940 KIXZ Amarillo TX went with Salem’s Charlie Kirk.
A few Townsquare stations that were airing Limbaugh have yet to publicly announce their new show for the timeslot on the eve of the launch including WJIM Lansing MI, WGBF Evansville IN, and KIT Yakima WA.
Other stations making moves to other shows include 600 KTBB/97.5 KTBB-FM Tyler TX adding Fox Across America, Flag Family Media’s “1100 The Flag” WZFG Dilworth MN/Fargo ND and 1090 KTGO Tioga ND will replace Limbaugh with Charlie Kirk, but also drop Premiere’s Sean Hannity from the 2-5pm slot replacing it with with Fox Across America.
A handful of bigger market stations have yet to announce their plans for Limbaugh’s daypart. We expect Audacy’s 1210 WPHT Philadelphia and Radio One’s 1110 WBT Charlotte/99.3 WBT-FM Chester SC to move to locally originating programs in the 12-3pm slot.
Update: Waterloo Media’s 590 KLBJ Austin TX will carry Travis and Sexton from 11am-2pm.
Despite all the defections, Premiere Networks claims that Travis and Sexton will debut on over 400 stations. Outside of iHeart’s owned stations only Dickey Broadcasting’s “Xtra 106.3” 1240 WFOM Marietta/Atlanta, which flipped to Conservative Talk and began airing Limbaugh in April after Cox’s 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB dropped the show.
Additionally, CESD Talent has announced that Victor Lisle has been tapped to serve as the imaging voice for Travis and Sexton. Lisle writes, “I am genuinely humbled beyond belief for this amazing opportunity. Never in a million years did I expect something of this magnitude could happen. I cannot thank enough, Kraig Kitchin at Sound Mind, and Julie Talbott and Jennifer Leimgruber at Premiere, for their support and belief in what I do, and for allowing me to be a small part of radio history. It is truly an honor and a privilege. Also, tremendous thanks goes out to Jon Zellner, Grace Blazer, Mike Elliott and Todd Carlson at iHeartMedia and my agent Nate Zeitz at CESD Talent Agency, all of whom believed in me at a time when I needed them most.”
