Nielsen begins its monthly release of PPM ratings with today’s Day 1 update including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston/Galveston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Long Island, Riverside/San Bernardino, San Jose, and Middlesex/Somerset/Union.

New York
MediaCo Adult R&B 107.5 WBLS maintains its lead rising 6.9 to 7.0, which Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is the highest share for the station since Spring 1981. iHeartMedia AC “106.7 Lite-FM” WLTW inches up 5.5 to 5.6. SBS Spanish Tropical “Mega 97.9” WSKQ holds at a 5.2. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM (5.5 to 5.2) and iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ (steady at 5.2) tie for fourth.
Audacy’s flip of Alternative “Alt 92.3” WNYL to a simulcast of News 1010 WINS has led to quick boost for the News brand. Adding the 92.3 simulcast for the final two weeks of the four week survey helped WINS rise from a 3.0 to 3.5 share. The Alternative format now listed as WINS-HD2 dropped from a 1.3 on the primary 92.3 signal to a 0.8 share coming from two weeks on the primary and two on the HD subchannel.
Audacy’s other News station in the market, 880 WCBS dropped 3.2 to 2.1 also coinciding with the previous month’s end of the Mets playoff push. Public News/Talk 93.9 WNYC-FM trended down 4.1 – 3.6 – 3.3.
Trending up in New York are SBS Spanish AC “93.1 Amor” WPAT-FM (2.4 – 2.7 – 2.9), MediaCo’s Hip Hop “Hot 97” WQHT (2.3 – 2.5 – 2.7) and iHeartMedia’s Hip Hop “Power 105.1” WWPR (2.4. – 2.6 – 2.7)
Los Angeles
Three stations tie for the top spot in Los Angeles: iHeartMedia Hot AC “104.3 My-FM” KBIG (5.1 to 5.1), iHeartMedia AC 103.5 KOST (5.7 to 5.1), and Audacy Classic Hits “K-Earth 101” KRTH (5.2 to 5.1). iHeartMedia News/Talk 640 KFI is fourth 4.7 to 4.6. Audacy Rhythmic AC “94.7 The Wave” KTWV follows 4.2 to 4.4.
iHeartMedia Hip Hop “Real 92.3” KRRL dips 3.4 to 2.9. Meruelo Media’s “Power 106” KPWR rises up slightly 1.5 to 1.8 following its playlist shift. Meruelo Spanish Rhythmic “Cali 93.9” KLLI trends down 2.1 – 1.8 – 1.6.
Chicago
With its traditional early flip to Christmas music in the final week of the monthly, iHeartMedia AC “93.9 Lite-FM” WLIT trends up 5.3 – 5.7 – 6.0 to gain a tie for first with Hubbard Classic Rock “97.1 The Drive” WDRV (6.1 to 6.0). iHeartMedia Adult R&B “V103” WVAZ dips 5.4 to 5.1. Audacy News 780 WBBM/105.9 WCFS is off 5.3 to 4.8. Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 105.1” WOJO holds at a 4.4.
Cumulus Media Classic Hits 94.7 WLS-FM trends down 3.9 – 3.7 – 3.4. Hubbard’s 90s/2000s Hits “The New 100.3” WSHE dips 2.3 – 2.0 – 1.9.
Audacy CHR “B96” WBBM-FM dips 1.9 to 1.7 for the lowest since its 1.6 in Holiday 2020.
San Francisco
Public News/Talk 88.5 KQED-FM rebounds 6.6 to 7.6 to reclaim the San Francisco lead. Audacy News 740 KCBS/106.9 KFRC trends up 6.4 – 7.0 – 7.5. Bonneville AC 96.5 KOIT dips 7.0 to 6.3. iHeartMedia Soft AC “98.1 The Breeze” KISQ is up 5.0 to 5.1. Bonneville CHR “99.7 Now” KMVQ trends up 3.9 – 4.1 – 4.5.
With Cumulus Media’s flip of 810 KGO to Sports Betting “810 The Spread” just before the start of the monthly, the former News/Talker falls 1.6 to 0.3. Cumulus Conservative Talk 560 KSFO rises 1.5 to 2.0.
Trending up in San Francisco: iHeartMedia Hip Hop 106.1 KMEL (3.1 – 3.3 – 3.7), Audacy Classic Hip Hop “102.1 Jams” KRBQ (2.3 – 2.4 – 3.0), and Bonneville Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX (1.8 to 2.2). Bonneville Adult R&B 102.9 KBLX falls 3.5 to 2.5. Audacy Variety Hits “105.3 Dave-FM” KITS slips 1.7 to 1.3. Audacy Hot AC “Alice 97.3” KLLC see-saws 3.2 – 2.6 – 3.3.
Dallas/Fort Worth
The demise of iHeartMedia Rock “97.1 The Eagle” in early October sends co-owned Classic Rock “Lonestar 92.5” KZPS up 5.0 to 6.5 to take the Dallas/Fort Worth market lead and as Huff notes the largest share in the history of the 92.5 frequency in the market. Univision Regional Mexican “Que Buena 94.1” KLNO is second 5.2 to 5.1. Audacy Classic Hits 98.7 KLUV rises to third 4.4 to 4.9. Service Broadcasting Adult R&B “Smooth 105.7” KRNB trends up to fourth 3.6 – 4.3 – 4.7. Cumulus News/Talk 820 WBAP is off 4.8 to 4.5.
In its first full monthly after its flip, iHeartMedia Hot Talk “97.1 The Freak” KEGL dips 1.5 to 1.0. With most of its staff previously working at Cumulus Sports “96.7/1310 The Ticket” KTCK/KTCK-FM, that station was off slightly 4.4 to 4.2. Audacy’s Cowboys flagship “105.3 The Fan” KRLD-FM rises 1.9 – 2.8 – 3.0.
Cumulus Classic Country “99.5 The Wolf” KPLX rises 3.7 to 4.3. Sister Country “New Country 96.3” KSCS trends down 4.0 – 3.6 – 3.4.
iHeartMedia AC “Star 102.1” KDGE trends down 5.1 – 4.1 – 4.0, while sister Hot AC “102.9 Now” KDMX slides 3.0 – 2.7 – 2.3 for what Huff notes is its lowest share since Spring 2008 in the pre-PPM era. Salem Christian AC 94.9 KLTY is down 2.5 to 2.1 for the lowest share since it moved to the frequency in 2000.
Houston/Galveston
iHeartMedia AC “Sunny 99” KODA retains its commanding lead despite dropping 9.8 to 8.7. Cox Classic Rock “107.5/106.9 The Eagle” KGLK/KHPT rises 5.7 to 5.9, while Audacy Variety Hits “95.7 The Spot” KKHH goes in reverse 5.9 to 5.7. Hope Media Group Christian AC 89.3 KSBJ holds at a 5.3 share. iHeartMedia Alternative “94.5 The Buzz” KTBZ-FM is up 5.1 to 5.2.

Philadelphia
The combination of the Phillies run to the World Series and Eagles hot start helps Audacy Sports 94.1 WIP explode up 5.3 – 6.5 – 9.3. Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes that is the largest share for the station since the Eagles won the Super Bowl in January 2018 and its first time atop the market since January 2020. WIP’s stream added an additional 2.4 share.
Beasley Media Rock 93.3 WMMR falls to second 8.7 – 7.9 – 7.4, while sister Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK rises 5.6 to 6.3. iHeartMedia Adult R&B 105.3 WDAS-FM slips 7.5 – 7.0 – 6.2. Audacy News 1060 KYW/103.9 WPHI rises 5.2 to 5.9.

iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ surges up 4.5 – 5.2 – 6.9 to claim the Nassau/Suffolk lead with Ratings Expert Chris Huff noting it is the largest share for the station on Long Island since Spring 1986. iHeart Classic Rock “Q104.3” WAXQ is up 5.3 to 5.4. Audacy Sports 660 WFAN/101.9 WFAN-FM trends 3.8 – 4.7 – 5.2 to place third. Audacy Classic Hits 101.1 WCBS-FM rises 4.3 to 5.0 to tie for fourth with Cox Classic Rock 102.3 WBAB/95.3 WHFM as it falls from first 6.6 – 6.1 – 5.0.
Audacy News 1010 WINS/92.3 WINS-FM rises 2.2 to 2.7 with the addition of the simulcast.

Anaheim Broadcasting Classic Hits 99.9 KOLA holds at a 9.2 share continuing to double the number of the second ranked Christian AC 89.7 KSGN’s 4.6 share. Audacy Country “95.1 K-Frog” KFRG is off 4.6 to 4.4. Entravision Spanish Adult Hits “Jose 97.5” KLYY dips 4.3 to 4.0. Estrella Media Regional Mexican “La Que Buena 96.1” KRQB is fifth 3.8 to 3.7.
