NIk Carter To Host Afternoons At KLOS

Nik Carter 95.5 KLOS Los AngelesMeruelo Media Rock 95.5 KLOS Los Angeles has tabbed Nik Carter as its new afternoon host starting Monday, February 3.

Carter most recently served as a host of “Feedback” at SiriusXM’s Music Talk “Volume” channel. He began his career at WFNX Boston followed by a brief run in mornings at WDGE Providence in 1995/96. He would then join WBCN Boston for a nine year run in afternoons through 2004 followed by four years in afternoons and middays at “92.3 K-Rock” WXRK New York until 2009. Carter also hosted afternoons on short-lived AAA 101.9 WRXP New York and has served as imaging voice for numerous stations including WNEW New York, WBOS Boston, WDRC Hartford, WXRT Chicago and many national brands. He also served as a host for VH1 Classic.

Carter said, ““Let’s get real here, 95.5 KLOS is the Mount Olympus of rock radio! Anyone who’s ever touched a mic knows this is the ultimate summit. KLOS is as iconic as the Hollywood Sign, and being part of it is the kind of opportunity that makes you want to fist-pump and check your pulse at the same time. It’s thrilling, it’s intimidating, and it’s exactly where I want to be. I can’t wait to connect with all the fellow music nerds and pop culture fanatics who can talk for hours about their favorite artists, songs, and films, with a few ridiculous impressions and bad jokes thrown in for good measure.”

Meruelo Media SVP/Audio Brands Pio Ferro commented, “Nik Carter is the shot of adrenaline KLOS has been waiting for. He’s got the swagger, the stories, and the passion for rock ‘n’ roll radio that defines our station. He’s the voice of the people who live and breathe this music, and he’s going to be a perfect fit to take KLOS into the next chapter.”

Carter fills the opening created by the exits of Kevin Ryder and Doug ‘Sluggo’ Roberts last September.
