Commercial and community radio news supplier Radio News Hub has been acquired by Markettiers4DC.
Radio News Hub launched in 2014 as an alternative to IRN and is run by former GMG Radio and Sky journalists Stephanie Otty and Jamie Fletcher.
It now provides hourly news to hundreds of radio stations in the UK and around the world, along with sport, showbiz, business, weather and international audio bulletins.
Daily programmes and special features are also available for subscribers.
Markettiers4DC is the parent company of markettiers, a broadcast PR agency and live streaming company which works with radio stations around the UK and further afield.
Howard Kosky, CEO of Markettiers4DC told RadioToday: “Our ambition is to invest in the business. We’re committed to investing more money into journalism and new programming, and we’re looking to expand the number of employees and the services offered by Radio News Hub.
“Our role is to financially assist and support Radio News Hub under Stephanie and Jamie’s direction. It will remain editorially independent and have the financial freedom to grow and be the best it can be.
“Markettiers4DC has been around 29 years and we are hugely passionate about local radio. This move represents a fantastic opportunity for us to give back to the radio industry.”
As a result of the sale, Radio News Hub has withdrawn its shareholding in News Radio UK but will continue to provide content for the service. The digital station, available on DAB in Aldershot, Basingstoke, Cambridge, Gateshead/Newcastle, Norwich and Winchester is now fully owned by RadioToday founder Roy Martin.
