Beasley Media Country 99.5 WQYK Tampa has announced the addition of ‘Mo On The Radio’ to their lineup as afternoon host.
Formerly known as ‘Mo Bounce’, he most recently spent twelve years at iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ New York from 2009 to April 2021 as evening and then afternoon host. He had been working as a registered nurse in a cardiac surgical unit in the Tampa area since then. The Brooklyn NY native began his career in Tampa as an intern at 93.3 WFLZ and later worked on-air at stations including WIOQ Philadelphia, KXXM San Antonio, KCHZ Kansas City, and KKHH Houston. He also was a national voicetracker across multiple formats for iHeart and was the imaging voice for the Elvis Duran Morning Show.
Bounce fills the afternoon slot that has been vacant since the departure of former Program Director Travis Daily last December.
Beasley Media Group announces Multimedia Influencer, Mo on the Radio, has been named the afternoon drive personality from 3pm-7pm Mon-Fri, on WQYK-FM. He will officially begin his new position on Monday, June 4, 2023.
Mo began his on-air career at the age of 18 on WFLZ in Tampa, where he started as a promotions intern, before becoming an on-air producer, and eventually, an on-air host.
Over the past 23 years, he’s worked at stations in major markets, including serving as the evening on-air host at the legendary Z100 in New York City, which earned consistent #1 ratings and an average daily audience of millions. His show eventually became syndicated on over 60 radio stations across the United States.
Known as a worldwide voice-over talent, Mo’s voice can be heard everywhere from Kuwait to numerous radio stations and shows across the country.
During the Pandemic, Mo relocated to Florida to be located closer to his family to pursue college and become a registered nurse while working in a cardiac surgical unit. When the opportunity presented itself at the legendary WQYK in Tampa, it was a homecoming opportunity he couldn’t refuse. Connecting with and uplifting people has always been his passion. In addition to his new on-air role, Mo will also serve as the station’s promotions coordinator.
“Adding Mo on the Radio to an already talented Tampa team shows how committed we are to adding the Best Talent in the world to these properties,” said Beasley Media Group Vice President and Market Manager Ron deCastro.
“When I learned Mo loved county music as much as our listeners do, I knew this was going to be special,” said station Program Director Rick Thomas. “I am super excited to bring this very talented proven radio winner to 995 QYK.”
“I am BEYOND thrilled to get back at it with Beasley and WQYK,” said Mo’. “When I was approached about this opportunity, it just felt amazing. From the top down, everyone is passionate and just as excited as I am.”
He added, “After much needed time to regroup in life, I’m ready to truly be ME, the way I always strived to be on the air. Huge thank you’s to Rick Thomas, Ron deCastro and Dom Theodore. Let’s go!”
