Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio and Country Radio Seminar have announced the selection of 95.7 WKML Fayetteville NC Program Director and morning show co-host Sarah Weaver as inaugural MIW in Country Radio Mentee.

Weaver began her career at KMV Anchorage AK before joining WKML in 2016 as midday host. She moved to mornings and became APD/MD in 2017 and was promoted to Program Director in January 2023. Weaver gets a year-long experience that exposes the mentee to the best minds in the business through personalized conversations, connections, and opportunities aimed at growing their leadership and management positions in country radio as well as a pass to the 2025 Country Radio Seminar.

Weaver stated, “It is an honor to have this opportunity and accessibility to some of the most brilliant female minds in our business. I look forward to a year of growth, learning, and networking. Thank you to MIW and the entire CRS team.”

“It has been a pleasure to collaborate with Ruth Presslaff and her team at MIW to identify Sarah Weaver as our first Country radio mentee. I cannot adequately praise how thorough this process has been in selecting the most deserving candidate. Sarah is a rising star, who will shine even brighter as a result of this program,” commented Executive Director, RJ Curtis.

MIW Board President Ruth Presslaff said, “Congratulations to Sarah, and thank you to RJ Curtis, John Shomby, and the CRB Board for the opportunity to focus a mentorship specifically on country radio. Special thanks to Becky Brenner for her work on this program.”
