Mike Rossi Joins WJBR For Middays

Beasley Media AC “Mix 99.5” WJBR Wilmington DE has announced the addition of longtime Delaware personality Mike Rossi as midday host.

Rossi spent 33 years at Forever Media CHR 93.7 WSTW Wilmington until exiting at the end of 2020. The Delaware native began his career in 1976 with stints at 1260 WNRK Newark DE, 1380 WAMS Wilmington, 96.5 WMJJ Birmingham AL and 100.7 WGRX Baltimore before joining WSTW as a part-time host in 1987. He joined the station full-time as midday host in 1992 and would be appointed Music Director later that year. He rose to Assistant Program Director in 1997 and Program Director in 2011.

Middays on WJBR have been jockless the past few years.

Beasley Media Group announces radio veteran Mike Rossi has been named as the new Midday Personality (10am-2pm) at WJBR-FM in Wilmington, Delaware. He will begin his new position on Monday, August 2, 2021.

Rossi spent over 30 years at WSTW-FM. In addition to midday hosting duty, he held the roles of Music Director and, from 2013-2020, Program Director. Previously he worked at WGRX-FM in Baltimore and WMJJ-FM in Birmingham.

“In addition to be an outstanding air personality, Mike Rossi has always been about service to the Wilmington area, said Beasley Media Group Vice President and Market Manager, Joe Bell. “It’s no surprise that he ended up at Wilmington’s community station, WJBR!”

“A generation of listeners from Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and Pennsylvania grew up listening to Mike,” said WJBR Program Director and Afternoon Personality, Eric Johnson. “We are thrilled to have his friendly personality and voice heard on the legendary WJBR!”

“I am humbled and thrilled to continue to serve my hometown on Mix 99.5,” said Rossi. “My thanks to Joe Bell, Eric Johnson and the entire Wilmington team of the Beasley Media Group for this amazing opportunity!”
