JAM Broadcasting shuffled formats at three of its four stations in Texas’ Hill Country west of San Antonio on January 8.
Texas/Red Dirt Country “The Buck” has moved from 103.7 KAXA Mountain Home and 1230 KERV/107.7 K299CA Kerrville to 99.1 KZAH Harper moving it to the stronger Class C3 signal and giving it coverage in Fredericksburg.
Variety Hits “Mike-FM” moves in reverse from 99.1 KZAH and KERV/K229CA to KAXA. The “Mike-FM” brand had debuted in January 2019 along with the sign-on of the 99.1 signal.
Co-Owner Justin McClure told the Hill Country Community Journal that the frequency swap had been planned for a few years but was put on hold due to the popularity of the former “Mike-FM” morning show hosted by Mikaela Taylor. Taylor departed the station in November to relocate to Miami. With the move to 103.7 and 1230/107.7, the station has launched a new morning show hosted by Ryan and Kim Pendergraft.
JAM Broadcasting also owns Rock “94.3 Rev-FM” KRVL Kerrville.
