La Crosse has served as Program Director of AC “K103” 103.3 KKCW and Classic Hits “106.7 The Eagle” KLTH Portland since September 2017. He would later be promoted to VP/Programming for the Portland cluster and added remote PD duties for Soft AC “92.5 The Breeze” KBEB Sacramento.
La Crosse has also programmed AC 103.5 KOST and Rhythmic Oldies “Hot 92.3” KHHT Los Angeles, Operations Manager of iHeartMedia Spokane, PD of 94.7 WLS-FM Chicago, and Promotions Director, Music Director and Assistant Program Director of Smooth Jazz 95.5 WNUA Chicago in his career.
He succeeds Curtiss Johnson as SVP/Programming in Sacramento. Johnson retired from the company at the end of 2020.
iHeartMedia announced today that Michael La Crosse has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Sacramento, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Sacramento has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than seven stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.
As Senior Vice President of Programming, La Crosse will oversee all aspects of programming for KFBK NewsRadio, Talk 650 KSTE, 92.5 The Breeze, V101.1, 93.7 The River, 107.1 The Bull and the new KISS 107.9. He will also be responsible for partnering with the sales management team to create revenue opportunities, working with the Program Directors to achieve ratings and revenue goals as well as collaborating with the cluster’s Marketing Director on market objectives and opportunities. In addition, he will continue to oversee the iHeartMedia Portland market as Vice President of Programming and serve as Program Director of KBEB/92.5 The Breeze. La Crosse will report to Maynard, Executive Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia National Programming Group.
“Michael is an outstanding programmer and human,” said Maynard. “He has worked closely with Sacramento and many other iHeartMedia markets over the past few years and I couldn’t be more excited to formally expand his leadership responsibilities and influence.”
La Crosse was previously Program Director for 94.7 WLS in Chicago, KOST 103.5 in Los Angeles and was the Operations Manager for iHeartMedia Spokane. He began his career at WNUA 95.5 in Chicago and is a graduate of Benedictine University.
“While working with Michael as our Program Director of 92.5 The Breeze, I witnessed an incredibly talented and selfless individual demonstrate leadership and interest in helping us take all our brands to another level,” said Sara McClure, Market President for iHeartMedia Sacramento. “I am excited for Michael and for Sacramento!”
“I’m very humbled to get the chance to work with the amazing team in Sacramento,” said La Crosse. “With a brand-new station like KISS 107.9 and a station like NewsRadio KFBK, that is celebrating its 100th anniversary, our stations are as diverse as Sacramento itself.”
