Michael Brown Takes Over Premiere’s Weekend

Premiere Networks has announced that 630 KHOW Denver morning host Michael Brown will be the new host of “The Weekend” succeeding ‘Joe Pags’ Pagliarulo.

Brown has hosted at iHeartMedia Denver since 2006, first as a weekend host at 850 KOA before moving to an afternoon show split between KHOW and KOA, and then moving to mornings at KHOW in September 2021. He previously served as Deputy Director and General Counsel of FEMA from 2001 to 2005 and Under Secretary of Homeland Security from 2003 to 2005 under President George W. Bush.

Premiere Networks announced today that Michael Brown – former Under Secretary of Homeland Security and Director of FEMA, and host of The Situation with Michael Brown on iHeartMedia Denver’s 630 AM KHOW – has been named the full-time host of the nationally-syndicated radio program, The Weekend. The popular three-hour Talk program can be heard on more than 300 stations nationwide, including markets such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Houston, Atlanta, Boston, Seattle, Phoenix, Denver and Portland.

Each weekend on the show, Brown will offer listeners a fresh take on weekend talk with his provocative insights into current events, politics and culture. The entertaining and relevant program will be highlighted by Brown’s smart, funny and insightful point of view as a former Washington insider.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to take the reins of The Weekend,” said Brown. “When Premiere asked me to sign on full-time, it was a no brainer. I’m looking forward to furthering my connection with this nationwide audience each week. We’re going to have a great time together as we go beyond the headlines to tackle the stories that matter most with honesty, smarts and a dose of fun.”

“We’re excited to enter this next chapter of The Weekend with a talent of Michael’s caliber,” said Julie Talbott, President of Premiere Networks. “His irreverent humor, intelligence and unique experience in politics are a perfect mix for our audience. We’re confident he’ll take The Weekend to a whole new level of success!”
