After closing on the $301,000 purchase of 93.7 WKEY-FM Key West at the start of the month, William ‘Buddy Shula’ Ostrander’s Radio One Key West flipped the station to Mellow Rock as “Key 93.7” on Tuesday afternoon.
Positioning as “Mellow Yacht Rock For Key West”, the station is listing core artists as Christopher Cross, Fleetwood Mac, Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, James Taylor, Chicago, The Eagles, Paul McCartney, Linda Ronstadt, Al Jarreau, Kenny Loggins, and Jimmy Buffet. Shula also owns Oldies “Big WECK” in Buffalo NY.
The station had been featuring placeholder Smooth Jazz programming since the closing of the sale after former owner Spottswood Partners had leased the station to David Reese’s NRG Media as Dance “NRG 93.7”
