Martin Bandyke To Retire From Mornings At WQKL

Ann Arbor's 107 One 107.1 WQKLMartin Bandyke will retire from mornings at Cumulus Media AAA “Ann Arbor’s 107 One” WQKL Ann Arbor MI on Thursday, December 22nd.

Bandyke joined WQKL in 2006 after spending 23 years at 101.9 WDET Detroit mostly as Music Director. He has hosted mornings at the station outside of a three week stretch in 2009 when he was laid off in a budget cut and then brought back after listener and advertiser backlash.

After departing mornings, Bandyke will continue to host his Sunday afternoon “Fine Tuning” show for WQKL. He told Michigan Live, “As much as I love being on the air, and believe me I’m going to miss being on the air five days a week, just having the chance to take the foot off the gas a little bit and address the stacks and stacks of books and CDs and albums at home will be great.”
