Lindsey Russell and Rob Howard get Heart early breakfast

Former Blue Peter presenter Lindsey Russell is the new host of Early Breakfast at Heart, whilst Capital’s Rob Howard gets the weekend editions.

Lindsey, who joined Heart at the start of 2022, will be on-air every weekday from 4am to 6.30am replacing James Stewart.

Rob Howard joins Heart from weekends on Capital, and has previously worked at Capital North East and BBC Radio 1.

Heart’s Deputy Managing Editor Richard Steel said: “Lindsey Russell has been a big hit with our listeners since she joined Heart last year and we can’t wait for her to bring her fantastic energy to early breakfasts on weekdays.

“I also wanted to say a huge thank you to James Stewart for bringing such passion and fun to Heart in the mornings, he can now enjoy a well deserved lie-in! We’re also excited to be welcoming Rob Howard into the Heart family.

“Rob will be keeping our listeners company every Saturday and Sunday morning and I know he’ll be a brilliant addition to the station and our weekend line-up.”

Rob Howard said: “I’m so excited to be joining the Heart family this year. I’ll be helping listeners kick-start their weekends in the best way by dialling up the feel-good and playing the most uplifting tunes!”

Lindsey Russell said: “I’m thrilled to be kicking off 2023 as the new host of early breakfast on Heart! I can’t wait to spend even more time with our amazing listeners each weekday morning!”
