Layoffs Ongoing At Beasley Media Group

Beasley Media GroupA round of layoffs is ongoing at Beasley Media Group today.

We have confirmed that there have been cuts in multiple markets. Among the people who have exited the company include:

Boston

Boston Radio Watch reports that Ken West departs as Program Director of “Rock 92.9” WBOS and Classic Hits 105.7 WROR. West joined WROR as APD in 2002 and rose to PD in 2006 adding oversight of WBOS in 2009.

Jonathan Wier exits as morning host at Country 102.5 WKLB. Wier joined WKLB in August 2019 after previously working in Talk formats in Kansas City and Gainesville.

Boston Radio Watch also states that longtime WROR morning show producer Brian ‘Lungboy’ Bell and “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM evening co-host Christian Arcand have departed.

Central New Jersey

Mike McGinn departs afternoons at AC “Magic 98.3” WMGQ New Brunswick after five years. McGinn previously hosted weekends at CBS CHR “92.3 Amp Radio” WBMP New York.

Philadelphia

Jaime Lynch departs the John Kincaide Show at Sports “97.5 The Fanatic” WPEN-FM. Crossing Broad reports that Lynch was dismissed on Thursday evening ahead of his flight with the remainder of the morning show to cover the Philadelphia Eagles game in Phoenix this weekend. Lynch joined WPEN-FM in 2015 and spent time in mornings and middays after previously working at 94.1 WIP.

Tampa

Market stalwart Mason Dixon departs Classic Hits “Q105” WRBQ. Dixon worked at the then Top 40 from 1978 until 1990 where he developed the Morning Zoo format with then PD/co-host Scott Shannon. Dixon would then spend time at 95.7 WMTX, 100.7 WAKS, and 92.5 WYUU before moving with the format back to WRBQ in 2002 with a long stint as Program Director. He moved from mornings to afternoons in 2020.
