A round of cuts took place on Friday at Cumulus Media’s Westwood One division focusing on staffers from their 24/7 formats.
We’re told that around two dozen staffers exited as the company intends to further integrate on-air talent from Cumulus’ local stations and existing Westwood One programs onto the stations utilizing the 24/7 network programming.
Among the staffers exiting:
Marconi Bologna departs his second stint on “Rock 2.0“. Bologna, who worked for the network from 2011-2014, had been hosting nights since 2018. In between he held the evening shift at Cumulus Alternative 101.1 WKQX Chicago and has also spent six years each at Alternative 94.7 KNRK and Active Rock 101.1 KUFO Portland in multiple dayparts at each.
Bologna writes, “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end, a great philosopher once said. I still believe in the future of radio. I hope I get to connect with some great programmers in the coming weeks. My experience in network voice tracking has helped me learn how to connect with listeners in a modern era while my time doing mornings, afternoons, evenings has taught me what it takes to win in any daypart. I know I could be a great addition to your team or brand.” His demos can be heard here and contacted at marconibologna@gmail.com.
