After flipping from Rhythmic CHR “U92” to Classic Hip Hop “92.5 The Beat” last August, Broadway Media has shifted 92.5 KUUU South Jordan/Salt Lake City to a Rhythmic AC by day and current Hip Hop at night mix retaining the current Beat branding.
Now positioning as “The Rhythm of Salt Lake”, the move comes following the addition last month of Leroy ‘Big Budah’ Teo as morning host and a Program Director change. Big Budah joined the station in December after spending 18 years at “Fox 13” KSTU as a features reporter and talk show host. He previously worked at 97.1 KISN-FM, 107.9 KUDD, and KUUU before making the move to television.
Aaron ‘Randy Bubba Black’ Goodwin, who had been remotely programming KUUU for the past three months, has stepped down from that position, but will continue hosting middays on sister Country “101.5 The Eagle” KEGA. CHR “Mix 105.1” KUDD PD/morning host Jon Watkins has assuming the programming duties for The Beat.
The 11:00am hour on Monday, January 30 consisted of:
- Will Smith – Miami
- Christian Aguilera – Dirrty
- Harry Styles – Watermelon Sugar
- New Kids on the Block – You Got It (The Right Stuff)
- Shaggy – It Wasn’t Me
- Madonna – Open Your Heart
- Ja Rule – Livin’ It Up
- Doja Cat – Say So
- Jordin Sparks ft. Chris Brown – No Air
- Salt-N-Pepa & En Vogue – Whatta Man
- Lady Gaga – Poker Face
- Flo Rida – Right Round
- Jason Derulo ft. 2 Chainz – Talk Dirty
- Jody Watley – Looking For A New Love
KUUU continues to feature a current based Hip Hop playlist from 7pm to 6am.
92.5 The Beat has launched its New Morning show across the Salt Lake market on KUUU, 92.5 FM!
Broadway Media is announcing a new morning host on 92.5 The Beat – Utah’s #1 for Throwbacks. Big Budah has taken over the morning spot on weekdays from 6 am to 10 am.
“I am so excited to return to my first career love…radio’” said Big Budah. “I am so grateful 92.5 The Beat is still helping many here in the valley, the same way country music or rock music is for others. I have been part of the Utah media landscape (radio & TV) for the past twenty-one years!”
Big Budah hopes to bring that same excitement, zaniness, and energy to the people of Utah every day he’s on the airwaves. He adds, “For you, the listener and business partner…if life is hard if you are feeling down, if you need a break, or if you need to turn up….tune in to 92.5 FM and take a Beat!”
“To be able to bring a heritage talent that is known to our market from his years on TV at FOX 13 and local radio stations here a decade ago, including being a former Morning show personality on these very call letters, is amazing,” said Aaron Goodwin, Program Director for 92.5 The Beat. “Budah is a throwback just like the music we play. I am super excited about this opportunity. The Broadway Media family and staff at 92.5 The Beat are still pinching themselves.”
Steve Johnson, President of Broadway Media, is also very excited to welcome Big Budah to the Broadway Media lineup, “He’s the type of person who really will lift everyone up at Broadway Media. We jumped at the opportunity to have him on 92.5 The Beat and we’re excited to showcase his talent!”
