An Audacy job posting indicates that after over two decades anchoring mornings at Rhythmic AC “94.7 The Wave” KTWV Los Angeles, Pat Prescott will soon be exiting the station.
The job posting states, “After 21 years of hosting mornings on 94.7 The Wave in Los Angeles, Pat Prescott is relinquishing her throne. The Wave is looking for the next great morning host. The Soul of Southern California reflects diversity, inclusivity, authenticity and is tuned to the vibe and lifestyle that is uniquely SoCal. We’re looking for a natural communicator who embodies the spirit of community service and can carry on the legacy Pat created for the role.”
Prescott joined the then Smooth Jazz outlet in 2001. After five years as a school teacher, she began her radio career at WYLD and WNOE New Orleans, Prescott spent the majority of her career in her native New York with stints at Jazz 106.7 WRVR from 1978 to 1981, R&B 107.5 WBLS from 1981 to 1988, and then mornings at Smooth Jazz “CD 101.9” WQCD from 1988 to 2001. Since March of this year she has been pulling double duty hosting “Favorite Things” from 12-2pm weekdays at Jazz 88.3 WBGO Newark NJ.
No date has been announced for Prescott’s upcoming departure from KTWV.
