KPKR Adds A KIDD

River Rat Radio Variety Hits “95.7 Jack-FM” KPKR Parker/Lake Havasu City and 95.5 K238BS Kingman AZ has announced the launch of new simulcaster 103.9 KIDD Fort Mohave AZ/Laughlin NV.

The new 1kW/-114m signal was acquired in last summer’s FCC Auction 109 for $190,000 and moved from its original allocation in Essex CA.

Arizona’s Hometown Radio Group subsidiary River Rat Radio announces the birth of The Kid, KIDD Fort Mohave/Bullhead City/Laughlin on 103.9. Its the latest extension of Flagship station KPKR “JACK FM” which started in December, 2007 and after upgrading to 95.7 FM added 95.5 FM in Kingman/Golden Valley. With the additional coverage from KIDD 103.9, JACK FM now covers the Colorado River Valley from Quartzite/Blythe thru Parker/Lk Havasu and now including Bullhead City/Laughlin.

“This part of Mohave County has been in our sights for years” says AZHRG and RRR co-owner Sanford Cohen. “This is the culmination of intense scrutiny and planning. It’s the missing piece of the puzzle for our audience coverage.”

River Rat Radio now has five full time stations besides KPKR and KIDD, the group also owns KDMM, Parker Strip, KXBB, Cienega Springs and KVSU Desert Hills all serving the area in and around Lake Havasu City, AZ. All five were the result of successful auction bids.

Sanford and his wife, Terry also owns and operate KPPV, KQNA, KDDL and KUGO in the Prescott/Flagstaff market. September 1 will mark 37 years for the mom n pop who were responsible for creating the first solar powered FM radio station in the US in 1986.
