Bonneville’s “Arizona Sports 98.7” KMVP-FM Phoenix is launching a new evening show hosted by Kellan Olson and Mitch Vareldzis.
“Arizona Sports at Night” will air on weeknights from 6-8pm on nights that there is no play-by-play on the station. Olson has been with the station for nine years as a Phoenix Suns reporter and co-hosting the Empire of the Suns podcast. Vareldzis joined KMVP-FM in 2018 serving mostly as producer of the Burns & Gambo afternoon show. He will also add on the role of pre and post-game show host for the station’s Phoenix Suns coverage.
Bonneville Phoenix Director of Programming Operations Brian Long said, “The new show is an exciting addition to the Arizona Sports lineup and extends our local talk into the evenings. Arizona Sports at Night will serve Valley sports fans with live, local content on their commute home and all throughout the evening.”
The addition of the new show expands KMVP-FM’s local weekday programming to a minimum of 14 hours on weekdays. The station also carries play-by-play of Arizona Cardinals football, Arizona Diamondbacks baseball, Phoenix Suns basketball, and Arizona State University football and basketball.
