Fife’s Kingdom FM celebrated its 25th anniversary this week by delivering hundreds of doughnuts to workplaces across its region.
Despite it being its birthday, it was decided that the station would do the dishing out of presents.
The breakfast show’s Dave & Vanessa, as well as drivetime’s Gemma McLean went out to deliver 200 fudge doughnuts supplied by Scottish bakers Fisher & Donaldson.
Over the last few weeks, local workplaces were invited to nominate themselves for a visit from the presenters with their boxes of doughnuts.
The station first began broadcasting in Markinch on 5th October 1998 and moved to studios in nearby Kirkcaldy in 2016.
Dave Connor who has been presenting the Kingdom FM breakfast show with fellow Fifer Vanessa Motion since 2015 says that they wanted to celebrate the birthday by doing something different for listeners.
“Kingdom FM is all about celebrating Fife and we knew we had to get listeners involved in this milestone for the station,” he says. “Giving away hundreds of Fisher & Donaldson fudge doughnuts seemed like the perfect way to mark the occasion and it was brilliant being able to surprise so many people today.”
