KHFM Promotes Alexis Corbin To Executive Director

American General Media Foundation Classical 95.5 KHFM Santa Fe/Albuquerque has announced the promotion of Alexis Corbin to Executive Director.

Corbin has hosted mornings at KHFM since 2019 and added Program Director duties in January of this year. She succeeds the retiring Brent Stevens, who served as Program Director of KHFM from 2004-17 and was its first Executive Director.

The American General Media Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexis Corbin as the new Executive Director of 95.5 KHFM.

Alexis has held the role of Program Director for KHFM since January 2023 and has been the host of KHFM’s weekday morning program since 2019. A longtime member of the classical music community in New Mexico, she previously held the positions of Education Manager for the Santa Fe Symphony and Director of Education and Outreach for the New Mexico Philharmonic.

Alexis is also a professional percussionist who performs with symphonies and chamber groups across the state.

Alexis states, “I am honored to take the helm of this great, longstanding cultural treasure, which has been a resource for classical music audiences and performing ensembles in New Mexico since 1954. I’m also pleased to be able to continue working with Brent Stevens, who will now step into the Program Director role for our station. His leadership brought KHFM through the transition from a commercial to a publicly supported station, and ushered in meaningful community collaborations which support our local performing arts organizations and extend their reach to KHFM’s statewide and global audience. I look forward to continuing and expanding that tradition of partnership and support and deepening our connections with our audience.”

Alexis will oversee the advancement of KHFM’s mission to provide access, without cost, to classical music for New Mexican audiences and beyond on the air and online; to promote and provide and support live music, the performing and visual arts, and arts education in New Mexico; and to promote New Mexico arts and artists worldwide.

“For nearly two decades, it has been my privilege to share classical music with audiences,” said Brent Stevens, “as Program Director, on-air announcer and, since 2017, as KHFM’s first Executive Director. I’m confident that KHFM will be in good hands, as Alexis has a deep knowledge of classical music and the music community in New Mexico, and a commitment to serving the state we both love. I look forward to working closely with her as she continues the growth of this New Mexico legacy.”
