Ken Evans has exited his role as cluster Director of Content for Townsquare Media Grand Rapids and Brand Manager/afternoon host of Hot AC “Mix 95.7” WLHT.
Evans joined Townsquare in April 2021 after spending the majority of his career in the market with with two stints at Clear Channel’s “I96” WVTI and 104.5 WSNX including APD/morning host at WSNX from 2012-2017 and at Cumulus Media as Director of Digital Content and morning co-host on CHR “105.3 Hot-FM” WHTS-FM from 2017 until 2019. He also programmed then-Cumulus owned CHR 103.3 WKFR Kalamazoo from 2006 to 2011.
As part of a post on LinkedIn announcing his departure Evans wrote, “As a Digital First cluster, we had the most successful year on record for 2022 garnering nearly 40 MILLION Local Pageviews in Michigan. We also found traditional broadcast successes with WGRD landing in the top position in demo most of the year and landing multiple stations in the Top 5 throughout 2022. That includes putting an entirely revamped Mix 95.7 in the Top 4 at the end of the year.” He added, “Unfortunately, my at-will employment relationship at Townsquare Media ended shortly before Christmas. They decided to manage expenses entering 2023 and I was on a list of cuts made to satiate shareholder expectations. But I can’t thank the team in Grand Rapids enough for their performance. I’m sure they will continue to exceed goals and dominate in 2023.”
