The departures continue to add up at Cumulus Media where Kay Manley will retire from Country “Kix 106” WGKX Memphis on Friday, December 20.
Manley has been a staple in the Memphis market since 1987 where she first spent fifteen years at AC “104.5 The River” WRVR through 2002 and would serve as Music Director, Program Director and afternoon host. She then joined Classic Hits “Star 98” WSRR through its relaunch as “98.1 The Cat” from 2002-05 before arriving at WGKX in 2005 as APD/MD/midday host, roles she would retain through her entire tenure along with adding Program Director duties earlier this year.
She told Country Aircheck, “”After 40 years in radio (36 as either MD or PD), almost 20 years at Kix 106 and 20 years of Kix on Beale, I am stepping down/ Thank you for showing me such kindness and friendship since I started this crazy country ride back in 2005 (wish I had started sooner). I have had a blast!”
