New Century Broadcasting Classic Country 1340 KAND/104.9 K285HC Corsicana TX ceased operations on October 31.
Owner Diane Raymond told the Corsicana Daily-Sun that she was heartbroken over the closure, which she cited revenue issues, personal hardships, and lack of local staff to run it. She also stated that plans have yet to be determined whether to resurrect the station in the future.
KAND signed-on in 1937 and had been owned by Raymond’s New Century Broadcasting since 2010 after previous ownership intended to shut it down at the end of 2007. It carried Corsicana High School and Navarro College football, but had discontinued its local “Talk Time” show earlier this year.
