Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.

Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Detroit, Phoenix, Minneapolis, San Diego, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, Baltimore, and St. Louis.

Washington DC

Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU continues to hold a commanding lead with a 10.2 to 10.1 move. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR rises 7.9 to 8.3. Atlantic Gateway Communications Christian AC 91.9 WGTS continues its surge up 4.2 – 5.8 – 6.9 – 7.9 for what Ratings Expert Chris Huff notes is a station record high. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP rises 6.9 to 7.5. iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH dips 6.7 to 6.3.

Radio One Adult R&B “Majic 102.3/92.7” WMMJ/WDCJ trends up 4.1 – 5.0 – 5.5. iHeartMedia CHR “Hot 99.5” WIHT rises 3.8 to 4.5. Audacy Hip Hop 95.5 WPGC trends down 4.3 – 3.4 – 3.1, while iHeartMedia Alternative “DC 101” WWDC slides 3.7 – 3.3 – 2.8.

Boston

104.5 WXLO Worcester Laura St. James Mary KnightBeasley Media Classic Hits 105.7 WROR rises 7.8 – 8.3 – 8.7 to expand its lead to over two shares. iHeartMedia CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM rebounds 5.2 to 6.4 to move up to second followed by sister Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX (5.2 to 5.9). Beasley’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM dips 7.3 to 5.8. Audacy AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX slips 6.7 to 5.7.

Audacy Hot AC “Mix 104.1” WWBX dips 4.7 to 3.4. Cumulus Media Hot AC 104.5 WXLO surges up 1.4 – 2.7 – 3.1 for what Huff notes is a Boston market record high for the Worcester area station.

Seattle/Tacoma

710 ESPN Seattle Sports KIROBonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM holds its Seattle lead down 7.3 to 6.7. Co-owned “Seattle Sports” 710 KIRO surges up 3.9 – 4.6 – 5.8 for its highest share when it had the News/Talk format in Fall 2003. KIRO moves into a second place tie with iHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK (5.5 to 5.8). iHeartMedia Classic Hits “95.7 The Jet” KJEB dips 6.3 to 5.7. Public News/Talk 94.9 KUOW rises 5.1 to 5.4.

Hubbard AC “Warm 106.9” trends down 6.3 – 5.0 – 4.4. Also moving down are Jazz 88.5 KNKX (3.9 to 2.9), Audacy Alternative “107.7 The End” KNDD (3.2 to 2.7), Lotus Hot AC “Star 101.5” KPLZ (2.4 – 2.2 – 1.9).

On the upward trend are iHeartMedia CHR “Hits 106.1” KBKS (2.3 – 2.5 – 2.8) and Dance “C89.5” KNHC (1.0 – 1.2 – 1.6) which Huff notes ties its all-time high set in January 2021.

Miami/Fort Lauderdale

Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR trends up 4.8 – 5.3 – 6.1. SBS Spanish Tropical “El Zol 106.7” WXDJ dips 6.2 to 6.0. Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF is off 5.5 to 5.3.

Audacy Classic Hits “102.7 The Beach” WMXJ jumps up 3.5 to 4.4. Cox Hip Hop “99 Jamz” WEDR trends up 3.0 – 3.8 – 4.0. iHeartMedia Classic Rock “Big 105.9” WBGG rises 2.2 to 3.0.

Detroit

Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC rises 7.3 to 8.0 to retain its lead. Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX rises 6.3 to 7.3. iHeartMedia AC 100.3 WNIC dips 6.0 to 5.9, while sister Adult R&B “Mix 92.3” WMXD rises 5.4 to 5.7. Beasley Rock 101.1 WRIF (5.2 to 5.5) and Audacy Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM (5.9 to 5.5) tie for fifth.

iHeartMedia CHR “Channel 95.5” WKQI falls 5.2 to 4.2.

Phoenix

Sierra H Broadcasting Classic Hip Hop “101 The Bounce” KZCE surges up 2.6 – 3.3 – 3.8 for what Huff notes is a record high for the station.

After relaunching as a Rhythmic Hot AC in mid-June, Desert Valley Media Group’s “Hot 97.5/103.9” KMVA/KZON surges up 1.7 – 2.7 – 3.2.

Trending down in Phoenix are Desert Valley’s “95.1/94.9 The Wow Factor” KOAI (6.2 to 4.7), Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX (5.2 – 4.9 – 4.6), Audacy CHR “Live 101.5” KALV (4.6 – 4.1 – 3.7), Audacy Classic Hits 94.5 KOOL-FM (4.0 to 3.1), and Hubbard Rock 97.9 KUPD (3.6 to 2.3). Huff notes that KUPD’s 2.3 is its lowest share since Spring 1975.

Tampa/St. Petersburg

Cox Soft AC 105.5 WDUV expands its lead up 7.6 to 8.2. Cox Classic Rock “107.3 The Eagle” WXGL (7.3 to 6.2) and Radio Training Network Christian AC “The Joy-FM” 91.5 WCIE (6.6 to 6.2) tie for second. Beasley Classic Hits “Q105” WRBQ rises 5.6 to 6.0. iHeartMedia Rock “98 Rock” WXTB is up 4.5 to 5.2.

Both AC’s trend down as Cox’s “Magic 94.9” WWRM slips 5.5 – 5.4 – 4.3 and iHeartMedia’s “Mix 100.7” WMTX goes 5.2 to 4.3.

iHeartMedia CHR 93.3 WFLX is up 3.3 to 3.9, while Cox’s “Hot 101.5” WPOI drops 3.0 – 2.8 – 2.5.

Hubbard Country 92.3 WIL jumps up 4.9 to 6.1. iHeartMedia’s “93.7 The Bull” KSD falls 7.6 to 5.7.
