Jonathan Wier Returns To Mornings At WKLB

One year after exiting Beasley Media Country 102.5 WKLB Boston in a round of company layoffs, Jonathan Wier is returning to his former position as morning co-host.

Wier first joined WKLB in September 2019 to join Ayla Brown in mornings and remained until the company’s cuts last October. Weir previously spent his career mostly in Talk formats, spending seven years in late mornings and then evenings at KMBZ-FM Kansas City and at WSKY Gainesville FL.

Beasley Media Group announces Jonathan Wier has returned as the official Co-host of Country Mornings With Jonathan and Ayla on WKLB-FM in Boston. He will officially join his former Co-host, Ayla Brown on the air beginning on Wednesday, October 18th from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Wier originally joined the station’s morning show back in September of 2019, before leaving in 2022. Previously, the St. Louis native, who took a unique path to radio after his wife entered him into a radio talk show host search back in 2004, spent the past four years serving as the nighttime personality at KMBZ-FM in Kansas City.

“Jonathan is a fantastic content creator with a proven track record in Boston,” said Beasley Media Group Vice President of Vice President of Strategy/Analytics and Director of Boston Programming, Cadillac Jack. “As he rejoins Ayla in mornings, WKLB is well positioned for continued success, now and into the future!”

“We are happy to have Jonathan back for mornings on Country 102.5 with Ayla,” said WKLB Program Director Dawn Santolucito. “His talent and dedication will undoubtedly be a driving force in the station’s continued success.”

“I am beyond delighted to be rejoining Country 102.5 and working alongside Ayla Brown again,” said Wier. “There are a lot of great country radio stations, but Country 102.5 run by Dawn Santolucito, Cadillac Jack and Mary Menna, is the best in the country. I’m so excited to be waking up Boston again instead of just waking up in Boston.”
