Johnny Chiang To Add SiriusXM Country Programming Oversight

Johnny Chiang SiriusXM Pandora 93Q CoxPandora Senior Director of Country Programming Johnny Chiang is adding the same duties for parent company SiriusXM.

Chiang joined Pandora in July 2022 after a six month stint as VP of Radio Promotions and Artist Development for Red Street Records. Chiang previously spent 22 years at Cox Media Group Houston eventually rising to Country format leader, Operations Manager of its Houston cluster, and Program Director of Country “93Q” KKBQ-FM and Classic Rock “107.5/106.9 The Eagle” KGLK/KHPT. He began his career in Los Angeles at 640 KFI and 103.5 KOST where he rose to APD/MD and then Program Director of the latter before moving to Houston to launch 80s Hits “106.9 The Point” and Rhythmic CHR “Hot 97.1” KTHT.

Chiang will fill the opening created by last summer’s exit of JR Schumann reporting to SiriusXM/Pandora’s SVP/Music Programming Steve Blatter. SiriusXM VP/Programming Darrin Smith has been overseeing the Country channels in the interim.
