SiriusXM/Pandora has announced the appointment of Johnny Chiang as Senior Director of Country Programming for Pandora effective July 25.
Chiang will be based in Houston and report to VP/Programming Kevin Stapleford. He succeeds Jen Danielson, who departed Pandora in April to join Warner Music Nashville as Senior Director of Streaming.
The announcement comes six months to the day after Chiang exited Cox Media Group as Country format leader, Operations Manager of its Houston cluster, and Program Director of Country “93Q” KKBQ-FM and Classic Rock “107.5/106.9 The Eagle” KGLK/KHPT to join Red Street Records as VP of Radio Promotions and Artist Development. He originally came to Cox Houston in 2000 to to launch 80s Hits “106.9 The Point” and Rhythmic CHR “Hot 97.1” KTHT. He began his career in Los Angeles at 640 KFI and 103.5 KOST where he rose to APD/MD and then Program Director of the latter.
