Joe Bonadonna Moves To WZZO As Program Director

iHeartMedia Rock 95.1 WZZO Bethlehem/Allentown PA has announced the addition of Joe Bonadonna as Program Director/afternoon host.

Bonadonna has been with iHeartMedia since 2010 serving as PD of Classic Rock “Big 105.9” WBGG-FM Miami and then PD of Hot Talk “Radio 95.1” WAIO and News/Talk 1180 WHAM Rochester and Rock 92.5 WKGB Binghamton since. He also was National Classic Rock Brand Coordinator from 2010 to 2014 and again since 2016. He has also programmed Rock 93.3 KDKB and Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX Phoenix and spent four years as Senior Director of Classic Rock programming for SiriusXM. He is best known for his 22 years at 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia from 1977 to 1999 including the final decade as Program Director.

He will succeed longtime morning host Keith Moyer in the afternoon slot. Moyer, who celebrated his 33rd anniversary at WZZO today, moved from mornings to afternoons in March 2019 following the death of his longtime morning partner Kevin ‘The Bearman’ Schutts.

95.1 ZZO, The Valley’s Rock Station, announced today that Joe Bonadonna has been named Program Director and Afternoon host for the station, effective immediately. Each weekday, Bonadonna will broadcast as afternoon host from 3 – 7p.m.

iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Program Director for 95.1 ZZO, Bonadonna will direct and coordinate all on-air programming and promotions, and supervise all marketing, branding, and imaging. In this role, he will report to Craig Stevens, SVPP for iHeartMedia Allentown. In addition, he will continue to work with iHeartMedia’s National Programming Group on many of the company’s classic rock brands.

Bonadonna is a legendary programmer and on-air talent in Southeast Pennsylvania, best known for his 22 years at WMMR in Philadelphia. He is a media veteran and throughout his career has held various programming roles at several top stations including NewsRadio WHAM 1180, WAIO-FM Radio 95-1, and WKGB-FM, as well as stints at WBGG-FM Miami, Sirius XM and Sandusky Broadcasting. He began his career at WLIR-FM and is a graduate of New York Institute of Technology.
